Abstract
Immunodeficiency, both primary (genetically determined) or secondary (e.g. due to immune modulating medication)
is increasingly diagnosed in the population, clinically associated with susceptibility to infection, autoimmunity and lymphoproliferation.
Flow-cytometry represents a cornerstone in the evaluation of patients with immunodeficiency, and contributes
to the correct diagnosis and additionally provides prognostic information.
Examples from the bedside to the cytometer and back from a tertiary Swiss immunodeficiency center will be discussed.
